New Cherner Chair

It’s always exciting when an iconic manufacturer comes out with a new model or new design, and Cherner Chair Company has done just that with their new task chair. In our last issue of the magazine, we had fun admiring two local home offices, and we will never get tired of dreaming of designing our own. Take a gander at Cherner’s new chair:

Available in the classic walnut finishes, some color finishes, and with or without seat pads

It would probably look really good in this room—one of our many dream home offices:

Clean Slate

It’s 2010, and doesn’t it just feel fabulous? It’s a new decade, year, month and day—we’re already scheming for this year’s projects, and we’d like to approach them with a fresh perspective. White is wonderfully clean looking, so be inspired to create your own new look!

Inform Interiors 10th Anniversary

Bravo to Inform Interiors! For the past 10 years, the showroom has consistently raised the bar for contemporary furniture and design in the city—and that certainly calls for celebration! Just going to the showroom is inspiring, so join us this Thursday for a cocktail reception at their South Lake Union showroom (2032 Eighth Ave., 206-622-1608), 5:30–8 p.m. See new products from Poltrona Frau, Poliform and Cassina—plus Moooi’s "Brave New World" lamp, which we featured in our July/August issue and was just featured in The New York Times.

See you Thursday!

The Bravern: John Howie Steak and Meyer Wells

Newly opened in the Bravern, John Howie Steak impressed us with its warm atmosphere and luxurious interior. In collaboration with architecture firm, Weber Thompson, Seattle’s Meyer Wells created bistro tables and a monumental dining table for the restaurant’s private dining room. Take a look:

Photos of Masins at the Bravern

Last Thursday, we posted about the Masins design boutique opening in Bellevue’s Bravern. On Friday, we got a chance to visit the space, and we weren’t disappointed— it’s an intimate space filled with the well-appointed furnishings that we’re used to from Masins. This post is to kick-off a series of posts over the next few weeks on notable things about the new boutiques and restaurants opening at the Bravern. Check out some pictures of the Masins space:

Jeffrey Braun Furniture

Last week, the Seattle Homes & Lifestyles team attended Third Thursday at Seattle Design Center. We had a great experience learning about the Jeffrey Braun Furniture collections, carried at the G.R. Hedges showroom at SDC, presented by Jeffrey and Lindsey Braun.

The company’s Signature Collection and City Collection custom home furnishings are contemporary and classic in design. The Brauns introduced their latest design, the Chloe chair (shown here in both armchair and armless versions), which incorporates cane—a passion of Jeffrey’s.

Knoll Showroom Grand Opening

Recently, Knoll Seattle opened their new showroom—high above the city in a gorgeous suite—and we were there to celebrate the occasion. As well as showcasing the classics (the Bertoia Diamond Chair, for example), this space displayed their sleek office systems and the new Generation desk chairs, which won a gold award from Best of NeoCon 2009. Learn more about the chairs, and even design your own, at sithowyouwant.com.
