Carve for a Cause

You know you have the best pumpkin carving skills. Prove it to the architects, designer and design aficionados this Thursday, October 30. Architects Without Borders hosts Carve for a Cause from 5 to 8 p.m., along with the Seattle Architecture Foundation and Design Within Reach.

Pumpkins will be judged under five categories: Traditional (scariest, most disturbing), Starchitecture (best imitation of a famous architect, character), Freestyle (most creative, artistic), Mystery (Judge’s Choice) and People’s Choice. Proceeds benefit current and future projects of Architects Without Borders, a non-profit aimed to provide sustainable and effective answers to those communities in need of rebuilding around the world.

Registration is $20 for individuals, $350 for firms. Drop off your carved pumpkin from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, at Mithun (Pier 56, 1201 Alaskan Way, Ste. 200, 206-623-3344). Register here.
