Budding Beauties

May 20th, 2009 at 08:00am Guest

Ah, les fleurs! As the rainy days of spring draw to a close (we hope), Seattle gardens are bursting with color and verdant life. It seems a shame to leave such beauty behind when we step inside. A visit to a local florist will have your home blooming faster than you can say "rhododendron." —Aislyn Greene

We love the Pavé bouquets from Fiori. Modeled after the jewelry technique, these lush bouquets feature arrangements that seem to be made entirely of blossoms.

For bouquets with an unexpected twist—ostrich feathers and European mint come to mind—try Fleurish on Capitol Hill. Designer Nisha Kelen creates innovative bouquets by appointment only.

When we’re in the mood to be our own floral designer, we visit the Flower Lady in Eastlake. (She just so happens to be located next door to our new office.) Here a variety of individual flowers and pre-made bouquets are sold in addition to bouquets-by-design.
