Does Tom Douglas need an introduction these days? A household name around Seattle for more than 20 years, Douglas now directs a mini culinary empire consisting of five restaurants, a bakery, a catering company and an events venue. Despite the success, it looks like he’s not content to rest on his laurels (as tasty as they may be).
Douglas recently announced that he, along with business partner and wife Jackie Cross, are teaming up with Vulcan Real Estate to extend their domain to South Lake Union. The new restaurant (or restaurants) will be housed in the Terry Avenue building, a historic landmark in the heart of Amazon headquarters. He has yet to announce his culinary intentions, but we’re sure it’s going to be dynamic and full of Northwest flavor. —Aislyn Greene
